HW-RCS-TYPEB-EV

Current Sensors In Stock

High-precision Type B residual current sensor for EV charging, detecting DC and AC leakage for safety protection.

The HW-RCS-TYPEB-EV is a Hawun high-precision Type B residual current sensor designed for EV charging, detecting both DC and AC residual currents so the charger can trip on an insulation fault. In an EV charger the residual current sensor is a safety-critical device: it must detect the small leakage that indicates a fault while rejecting the noise of the charging environment, and it must respond within the time the standard defines. A Type B sensor is required because a DC fault current can appear in EV charging, and a sensor that only detects AC would miss it. The sensor output feeds the charger's controller, which compares it with the threshold and trips the contactor on a fault, so the interface and the response time must meet the requirement. The device is designed for the EV charging environment and for integration into the charger's safety chain. Every device is factory-traceable and ships with an import declaration, a certificate of origin and RoHS documentation. BeiLuo holds this part in regional stock and our FAE team supports sensor selection and integration.

FAE Professional Review

This is the sensor we recommend for EV charging safety, because a Type B sensor detects the DC fault current that a Type A or AC-only sensor would miss. It is a safety-critical part, so the response time and the interface must meet the standard, and the integration into the charger's safety chain should be validated early. Confirm the detection threshold and the trip time against the standard your charger must meet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a Type B sensor required for EV charging?

A DC fault current can appear in EV charging, and a sensor that only detects AC would miss it, so a Type B sensor that detects both DC and AC is required.

It is a safety-critical part of the charger.

How does the charger use the sensor?

The sensor output feeds the charger's controller, which compares it with the threshold the standard defines and trips the contactor on a fault. The interface and the response time must meet the requirement.

Our FAE team helps with the integration.
